Self-criticism makes you feel small and weak when you don’t need to be. These steps will quickly pull you out of the endless diarrhea – it’s about time.
Marinate endlessly in toxic self-criticism
No one likes a braggart, but should we marinate ourselves in self-criticism?
No – not a good plan.
Yet we do it on a massive scale – I participate in it myself.
I am regularly unnecessarily critical of myself, and many people around me struggle with it too.
Perfectionism, comparing yourself to others, parents who were hard to please, experiences of public failure, low self-esteem – there are countless reasons why people experience self-criticism.
Self-criticism makes you small, weak and miserable . It damages your self-confidence and thus your quality of life on a deep level.
But you know what’s fun? The solution is already packed in the word. Self-criticism comes from ourselves. And so we have the opportunity to do something about it ourselves.
Pretty nice.
There are all kinds of steps we can take to reduce self-criticism. Below I share 5 steps that are particularly effective , require little effort and also work quickly.
It’s a dirty story. Let’s see.
1. Observe the diarrhea
Yes – I see self-criticism as a constant flow of diarrhoea.
It stinks, it gets stuck in everything, it’s a hassle to clean up and nobody really wants it.
But as with so many things in life: you get used to everything .
If you function every day between that misery, you don’t even notice it anymore. But as soon as you take a fresh look at it, you realize with horror the situation you’ve ended up in .
And what do you do then?
Exactly – then you will take steps to change something about it.
The first step is simply to observe your self-criticism:
You don’t have to change anything.
You don’t have to run away from it.
You don’t have to spice it up.
No – just observe. That’s all.
You can jot down self-criticism as soon as it comes along. For example in your notes app on your smartphone. Jot down that poisonous thought, and go about your day.
You can mentally notice self-criticism when it passes. For example, label such a miserable thought as “self-criticism” and go about your business.
You can get rid of all self-criticism by writing it all down in a journal. Take ten minutes to put all that diarrhea on paper – it’s a great relief.
Try noticing self-criticism throughout your day . It often won’t work, but just do it when you think about it. You don’t have to observe all the self-criticism, a little is good enough.
By consciously noticing self-criticism you will automatically bring about change.
Not because you suddenly have all the answers, but simply because no one of their own free will remains in such a miserable situation .
2. Let it be quiet
The less effort something takes, the more likely you are to actually do it.
That’s why I say don’t do anything now . Let that self-criticism be there and notice it. That’s all.
Give it some time and observe what is happening in your head . The more self-criticism you observe, the less seriously you begin to take it. You start to see that you’re just playing a boring tape that keeps shouting the same things:
“You can’t do this.”
“You’re not good enough.”
“You’re not pretty enough.”
“You are too stupid.”
Etc.
It can sometimes help to visualize that critical voice as a childish troll .
That troll is looking for comfort and security, so he tries to keep you down by convincing you that you should n’t do anything that challenges you.
Fine and logical. But we’re not going to let a grumpy troll determine the direction of this wonderful life – are we?
No – better not.
Just let that troll chat and you can enjoy your day in the meantime.
3. Make room for something better
Do you have something like: “doing nothing doesn’t sound good enough” ? Then there is something you can do: shift your attention .
Where to? To aspects of yourself that you value.
Focus your attention on:
Things you accomplished today (no matter how small);
Properties of yourself that you like;
Aspects of your body that you like;
Moments when you have overcome something;
The precious people who love you despite all the negative beliefs you have about yourself;
Other positive aspects of your day.
Often when I’m working on a bigger project (like a new course), I suddenly feel insecure. The troll knows how to tell me that I am a worthless writer and that no one cares about what I have to say.
When I experience that, I leaf through old articles and read the sweet reactions of readers. It helps me to establish that my work is going to make someone happy, and that I can continue to challenge myself.
It helps me establish that there really is something wrong with my skills, and that I was fooled by that troll again.
Everything that gives you attention grows – and that self-criticism does not deserve your attention.
Focus on the nice, positive sides of yourself. It helps you move to a place of less misery and more joy.
4. Lovingly let yourself slip
Diarrhea can be slippery.
Even if you walk carefully, you will occasionally fall. Not nice, but nothing you can do about it.
Even with all the good intentions in the world, you will find yourself caught up in a downward spiral of self-criticism from time to time . You are not waiting for it but you can wait for it to happen.
What to do?
There’s one thing you don’t want to do: feel sorry for yourself that you failed to practice self-love again . That sounds logical but it is the most common reaction:
We’re trying to solve the problem with more diarrhea, when you just slipped into it.
It just makes the story dirtier and I think we’ve both had enough of this metaphor now – so let’s get smarter:
Self-compassion.
We change the internal dialogue of the troll who shouts, “You never learn! AWFUL! You’re a loser! Everyone is better at this than you. You’re worthless. You can’t do anything! Ugh, I can’t see you anymore!”
To (voiced by Mary Poppins): “Oops slipped in the diarrhea, that’s not nice. Can happen. Come on, I’ll run a bath for you. Yes, I’m going to throw in the whole bottle because you do smell a little – but I love you anyway. Just lie back and I’ll go mop up with a few bottles of bleach and burn your clothes.”
Feels better, right?
5. Don’t be in a hurry, just pay attention
You usually don’t turn around a life full of self-criticism in one afternoon.
But you know what? We are in no hurry. As soon as you start with the first step, you can also effortlessly defuse most self-criticism .
It is special how more attention – more mindfulness – immediately makes the situation milder.
It helps you see that you are experiencing self-criticism and are not those thoughts – let alone that those thoughts are true.
More awareness leads to more self-compassion and self-love. Slowly but surely it’s getting quieter up there. And before you know it you’ll be making friends at a get-together where you don’t know anyone, or you’ll be taking on tasks you normally couldn’t take on due to self-sabotage.
You feel more confident, stronger, more powerful – happier!
That troll isn’t going anywhere, but you’re getting better and better at approaching him with patience and understanding.
Living with self love lives a lot better
So the message is simple: be kind to yourself .
There is only one you. You are unique and you are good just the way you are. Don’t put yourself down, rather get yourself up.
Not only does that live a lot better – from that position you can also reach out to others and help them take the same step.
Increasing self-love is your most important step towards a more loving world .
It makes everything better, so dare to take it seriously. Let go of that self-criticism and rather marinate yourself in self-compassion – works much better. 💛
Are you ready to get started right away? Go AHEAD !!
Who influences your world?
Everyone you meet influences you.
- Criticism from a colleague can ruin your day.
- A smile from a stranger can make your day.
The influence of others on our lives is enormous.
But don't let yourself be influenced too much.
If you always do what someone else wants, you never do what you want yourself.
The more self-confidence, the less you let others influence you.
If you don't follow your own path, you follow someone else's path.
And is it going to your goal?
Jump in the water!
If someone says to you: "Jump in the water", you think:
"Check it out, I'm not crazy!"
But often the influence of others is much more subtle.
They might say, "Dip your toe in the water. Now your foot. And now your leg..."
Before you know it you are under water.
While you didn't want that at all!
How do you avoid being influenced?
Just be aware of it.
Think about everything: "Do I really want to go this way? Does this feel right for me?"
Always rely on your own strength.
No one can influence you if you don't want to.
No one can make you negative, angry, or dominate you.
Only if you allow it.
Distance yourself from the people you don't feel comfortable with.
Get rid of ideas that don't support you.
Make your own choice.
Only you know what you really want :)
Do what you like and don't please others, otherwise you will never reach your goals in life.
We are on the eve of enormous change. Artificial intelligence is here and getting better and better. What does this mean, and what can you do now?
The era of smart machines
I’ve been shouting it to everyone who doesn’t want to hear it for years: in 2025 we live in the future .
Why do I call that?
It has been predicted for decades that artificial intelligence (better known as AI ) will surpass human intelligence by that time .
And you know what? We seem to be ahead of schedule .
In the coming years a lot will change at an unprecedented pace . And most people have no idea what’s coming our way. Perhaps this also applies to you.
I’ve been studying the rise of AI for years . This development has quite a few potential implications for your life and I think it’s good that you understand it better.
That is why in this article I will take you through a few insights that I gained. To inform you and give you some tools to move along with this new, special reality.
Let’s dive…
What’s so special about AI?
For the past quarter of a million years, we – homo sapiens – have been the smartest creatures on Earth.
That will change – and that will change everything .
The rise of AI is not the same as the rapid rise of the internet or social media or smartphones. The likely impact of AI will be much greater because it magnifies and improves what makes us humans different from other animals: our intelligence .
If artificial intelligence continues to develop at this rate (and it looks like it), within 20 years (and possibly much sooner) we will experience an evolutionary leap that humanity has not made before.
For the first time, we will be dealing with systems that are many times more intelligent than the most intelligent people who have ever lived. It’s unclear when we’ll get there. It could be next year or a hundred years from now – many experts estimate it won’t be another twenty years.
But things will change long before we get there.
In fact – it is already underway, at full speed.
Where we are at the beginning of 2023
In November 2022, OpenAI launched ChatGPT . A free chatbot (a “robot” you can text with, based on a grand language model ) with an ugly name and surprisingly powerful capabilities.
You’ve probably heard about it.
People use ChatGPT to generate theses, articles, software and even entire books. But visual art and synthetic photography have also taken off enormously.
It’s that I like writing , but practically my work is almost (not quite) relegated to ‘hobby’.
It’s still far from perfect, but we’re constantly updating and adding features. Earlier this year, GPT-4 was launched — a quantum leap and a system that researchers say shows early glimpses of human intelligence .
For many tasks, even this early version proves to be good enough . And that is an important milestone.
‘Good enough’ turns everything upside down
Why are robot vacuum cleaners so popular?
Not because they vacuum your house perfectly. They are popular because they are “good enough” for many people to make the investment worthwhile. They don’t get the job done perfectly, but they take a lot of work off your hands – and that has value.
A robot vacuum cleaner still costs quite a bit of money – access to AI is now practically free or at least incredibly cheap. And we are really only at the beginning of the AI revolution.
All the building blocks are there to transform our economy and society at all levels. The next step is to integrate this AI into the economy.
And that work is in progress.
There is nothing wrong with that in itself. Lower costs and higher productivity tend to make life better for all of us.
But if you get paid to do what an AI can do almost for free with the right plugins, then ‘good enough’ can change your life considerably.
Preparing for the age of artificial intelligence
They had promised us self-driving cars – and suddenly I have to worry about my future as an author and still watch the road too.
It shouldn’t get crazier.
Most experts agree on one thing: the rise of AI is hard to stop .
The party with the best AI has the best economic and geopolitical opportunities. Whoever has the technological edge owns the world.
There are now groups of scientists and experts calling for a deliberate delay( 2 ) in the development of AI. This would give our societies more time to adapt, to set up legislation and supervision and to investigate whether and how we can safely develop AI.
There are still many issues and challenges, but the biggest challenge at the moment seems to be the speed at which AI is improving .
What can we do?
This new future is rapidly approaching us.
We probably cannot slow down the development of AI. So what can you do?
From my perspective, there are a few things we can do to face this turbulent future in a positive way.
These are 5 practical tips that you can take with you today. I’ll go through it in a nutshell, but if there’s interest I’ll go into more detail in other articles later. Just let me know !

These are 5 practical tips that you can take with you today. I’ll go through it in a nutshell, but if there’s interest I’ll go into more detail in other articles later.
Let’s see.
1. Learn to understand what is happening
By delving a little more into AI you will better understand what is happening and how it will change your life in the near future.
Don’t fall for the most sensational headlines – there’s a lot of hype going on.
Focus on substantive reporting and marvel at examples of what artificial intelligence can (and can’t) do. Many AI experts and philosophers are guests in podcasts that can help you dive deeper into this topic.
A foundation of knowledge will help you make better decisions. For example, the development and regulation of AI will inevitably become a major election theme in the near future. This development will sooner or later become a topic of conversation at every level of society, in every organization – it is nice and valuable if you understand it a little.
2. Learn to use AI to work more effectively
Create an account at ChatGPT and play with it – the system just speaks Dutch.
Learn how to use good prompts to get better results. Explore ways to weave these capabilities into your workflow. For example by means of plugins or (if you are more handy) the API.
And remember: you can just ask the AI questions if you don’t understand something.
It is important that you develop a feel for how to collaborate with a synthetic colleague, because there is a good chance that such systems will become part of your work in the coming years.
In fact, a recent study states that 80% of all jobs will be affected or could be replaced by AI .
In addition, it is also just fun and convenient. I like to condense long texts into haiku – to each their own.
Note: ChatGPT is not perfect. It regularly gives answers that are not true. The system then begins – as they call it – to ‘hallucinate’. This is also part of the technology and of the challenges it entails.
3. Keep learning to increase your value
Now is a great time to get that education you’ve been wanting to do for a while.
The more in demand your skills are, the more value you can continue to provide in an AI-powered world. Especially if you focus on more effective collaboration with AI or on tasks that cannot (for the time being) be performed by AI.
There are a few areas that are likely to be (at least for a while) safe from AI:
Advanced or highly personalized manual work . Such as installing heat pumps or construction. Automation will make this work easier and more efficient, as will be the case in almost every profession.
Work in which you are paid to think . This will increasingly be done together with the input of artificial intelligence, as this will almost always lead to better results.
Work that is valuable because it is done by a human being . Think of healthcare, education, handmade products, but also hospitality and certain forms of coaching and personal guidance. Here too, automation will lead to all kinds of changes in small and large ways. But nobody likes a robot waiter or a digital avatar at an arts & crafts market – so this kind of work is safe for now.
In many professions, AI will be added to work many times more efficiently. It can also help to take over many (boring) administrative tasks, so that you can focus more on the tasks that really add value.
However, jobs will also disappear, just because AI turns out to be ‘good enough’.
To name a few examples:
There will probably still be a need for a ‘face’ in many places, but as the supermarkets have shown with self-checkouts: one person can now fulfill the function of ten cashiers. It didn’t even need AI!
Many tasks in the physical world are still beyond the capabilities of AI (such as chef), but physical robots will also eventually fall into the ‘good enough’ category for many tasks. With smarter AIs, technological development will also accelerate in these areas.
Many professions will be supplemented by synthetic colleagues who take over specific tasks. Think of plastering robots, autonomous agricultural machines and self-driving trucks.
Many tasks that we now consider very complex and ‘uniquely human’ (such as writing complex computer code) can increasingly be completed in seconds with higher quality with the right plugins.
The point is not whether these developments are desirable or undesirable . The point is that they are on their way, and it is up to us to handle them properly.
3. Focus on the uniquely human side
What makes us uniquely human?
The answer to this question will get shorter and shorter, but it pays to keep focusing on these sides.
The more we deal with ‘synthetic people’, the greater the need for real humanity will become.
The fact that you are not an AI model will become more valuable in the future . A handwritten text (like this!) probably feels more ‘worth reading’ than a (probably better) text generated in a few seconds by an AI.
I hope so.
People want to interact with people – that’s not going to change.
Perhaps our focus will shift more from doing to being . And our attention moves away from external work and more towards personal growth and really connecting with others.
Investing in relationships has always been a good idea – in the future, your humanity may be the most important factor that remains.
4. You can become a ‘co-owner’
If AI is increasingly intertwined in the economy and achieves unprecedented growth, you can benefit from it.
This is indirectly related to AI, but it does offer possibilities . By putting money to work, you can directly benefit from the economic growth caused by the rise of AI.
One of the biggest bottlenecks in our economy is a shortage of personnel. Every function that can be (partly) fulfilled by AI means more opportunities for growth for that organization.
In any case , powerful new technology almost always leads to a period of strong economic growth . The deep impact of AI may only increase this effect, which could lead to unprecedented economic growth (but there are no guarantees).
It is true that we are now in an uncertain period economically. But it is precisely in times when things are not going well that companies will want to invest in cost savings – in other words, in artificial intelligence.
5. Work on your emotional resilience
The better you can move along, the better the future will feel for you.
The rise of AI will bring a lot of trouble. It will also offer very nice things – it can help us solve the most stubborn problems.
Think of energy supply and the climate crisis. Other possibilities are also emerging – such as solving many (or all!) diseases or even stopping (or reversing) aging.
Capable and secure artificial intelligence can exceed our wildest dreams for a great future. And the funny thing is – we’re going to see part of this future.
In fact – we are already in the middle of it.
AI era is approaching, Humanity remains value, We must learn.
Are you in a slump or depression? There are things you can do to get out of your depression on your own without medication. In this article I share 6 tips.
Alert if your body gives you signals !!
You are not weird and you are not alone
If it’s any comfort to you, you’re not the first to feel depressed, and you’re certainly not the only one.
No, I know – it’s no comfort. Still, it’s important to realize this.
Depression is common, more often than you might think. And almost everyone experiences one or more dips or depressions in their life.
Do you feel gloomy, dull and nothing makes you happy right now? Then you may be suffering from depression. In recent years I have learned a lot about depression, and in this article I want to give you some tips that can help you relieve your depression or get out of your depression completely without medication.
Choose the right target
Before we go any further – let’s just get one thing straight: the goal is to get you back on your feet. The goal is not to keep you off the drugs at all costs .
It is true that antidepressants are sometimes prescribed unnecessarily and in such situations cause more problems than they solve. But there are also many situations where medicines are just the solution you need.
So let’s not be dogmatic about it – if it’s necessary, it’s necessary. Be thankful that you live in the 21st century and that the opportunity exists.
What I actually want to do with this article is to remove some common underlying causes of depression, so that you can get out of your depression on your own, or at least drastically reduce your symptoms.
All right, let’s start.
1. Start with your body
Yes – your body. We think of depression as a problem in our heads – but your brain is in your body. There are several causes of depression, but there is some evidence that lifestyle changes can have a fairly direct impact on your mood.
And that’s pretty nice. In fact, one of the latest insights suggests that depression may be caused by small inflammations in the body and brain ( 1 ). And that an anti-inflammatory lifestyle can reduce the problem.
Three things are important:
This means that part of your depression is simply a condition in your body. You don’t go crazy, you just suffer from a condition like you can suffer from an inflamed toe or a painful tooth.
It means that you are not depressed, but have depression . And something you have you can shake off.
It means you can make practical changes to reduce your depression.
And even if your depression doesn’t appear to have a physical cause, it’s a very good idea to rule it out. Your body won’t get any worse for it anyway.
So? So you want to switch to an anti-inflammatory diet .
What does such an eating pattern look like? Predominantly vegetable and unprocessed as much as possible . So:
Lots of fruit and vegetables.
Little to no dairy and meat.
Lots of legumes.
Little to no sugar and white flour.
Especially whole grain products.
More nuts and seeds.
Less processed junk (chips, chocolate, candy, deep-fry, etc.)
Little to no alcohol.
Lots of leafy greens.
More green tea and herbal teas.
By upgrading your diet step by step , you improve your physical health. And this reduces the chance of a possible cause of your depression. Moreover, you feel more energetic, fitter and stronger.
Your hormones slowly come into balance, so that your happiness hormones also become less disrupted.
Take your time and change slowly. The healthier your body becomes, the better your brain can function in it. And a well-functioning brain moves away from gloom and depression, exactly what you want.
2. Start exercising – even if you don’t feel like it
Running, brisk walking and cycling outdoors. This is your daily protection against the dip, and your most practical way out of your depression.
When you feel depressed you may have a tendency to withdraw and do little. But the opposite (exercise in the open air) is what can help you out of your depression.
So? So start changing, in small steps if you have to . Do you find it difficult to get yourself to do this? Then just agree with yourself that you will walk around the house today. Or that you cycle a few minutes on your way to the supermarket.
This is not about pushing , it’s about changing slowly so that you learn healthier habits. By changing in small steps you make it less challenging, so you succeed this time. And because you succeed, you feel good about yourself. This motivates you to go the extra mile tomorrow.
And yes – some days you feel a little more depressed. And then you might fall a step back. No problem. Progress rarely goes in a straight line.
Focus on today and do what you can do. Without putting yourself down – okay?
3. Practice self-compassion
We all have our things. One feels constantly stressed, the other has health problems, feels inferior or anxious – and you feel down right now.
Nothing wrong.
Your brain is disordered. Hormones are out of balance. Not fun, but nothing to get yourself down about. Depression is a condition. You don’t put yourself down when you have the flu, do you?
You’re not stupid. You are not ‘unsociable’. You have a condition that causes your brain to darken its view of reality. People still love you – even if you don’t feel it right now. And you’re not the only one walking around with this – even though it sometimes feels that way.
Self-compassion – that’s what you want to cultivate . Be kind to yourself. You are going through a difficult period in your life, you deserve some compassion. First of all from yourself.
That doesn’t mean you feel like a victim, that you give up or that you identify with your depression. It means that you accept reality and take the space with love, patience and attention to get out of your depression.
So – please – stop judging yourself. Ready now.
4. Start meditating
Do you know what the big problem with depression is? It’s not the negative thoughts you think about yourself and the world. Even if it sometimes seems so.
No. Those thoughts are not the problem. The problem is that you think those thoughts are you . That you believe those negative thoughts .
This is where meditation can help you. A depressed brain is filled with a thick pack of dark thunderclouds. The layer of clouds is so thick that it seems that there are only clouds.
But behind those clouds is still the blue sky. Calm, calm, patient, waiting for the clouds to clear.
Depression is endless concern with the dark clouds. It is seeing the clouds as if they were very tangible. And because there are so many clouds, you can lose yourself in them endlessly.
But the truth is this: the clouds are not tangible, they don’t really exist . You can’t grab and hold them. They come and go. And the more attention you give them, the more clouds there will be.
The clouds are the illusion. Your thoughts are not who you are. You are that blue sky , and the clouds just drift through.
Meditation is your cloud-dispelling tool of choice . It’s a skill you have to learn, yes. But it’s easier than you think. Why? Simple: If you feel like you’re doing it wrong, you’re doing it right .
The purpose of meditation is not to clear your mind. That’s an effect . What you do in meditation is focus your attention on, for example, your breathing. The longer that works, the more clouds will disappear. And the more difficult it is, the more effect the meditation will have.
Sounds crazy, but it’s true. The world of meditation is full of delightful paradoxes. And the path leads to inner peace, joy, wisdom, calmness, patience and compassion.
For all these reasons, I think every human being should embrace meditation. And if you’re depressed, I think it’s extra important.
5. Cut back on habits that don’t serve you
This goes without saying, but it is important to mention separately. You’re not feeling well – so stop doing more damage. You want to heal, not end up deeper in the negative spiral.
And yes – I understand. When you’re not feeling well, it’s harder to resist bad habits. Logically. And you don’t have to do it all at once. But just start. Start decreasing , and keep moving forward.
What kind of habits should you think about?
Excessive eating of processed, unhealthy foods . Candy, chips, fries, chocolate, ice cream, meat, cheese, you know the drill.
Binge-watching series and other entertainment . Entertainment works better when you dose it and don’t dominate your whole life.
Excessive Gaming . You can keep losing yourself in virtual worlds, but you won’t solve your problems there.
Smartphone Addiction . Instagram is not going to help you out of your depression. The same goes for almost all apps on your smartphone, with the exception of your motion tracker – running and walking are good habits!
Shop to feel better . More junk doesn’t make your life easier. Not less money either. So shopping is okay if you need something, but don’t go crazy.
Whining and Complaining . You feel like shit and we understand that. But you’re not going to feel better if you talk negatively all the time. And neither does your environment. You make everything worse, not better.
Let yourself be endlessly carried away by your dark thoughts . As described above: your thoughts are not who you are. Thoughts are illusions – brain farts. Do you get into a negative thought spiral? Then take a few deep breaths and distract yourself.
Keep confirming to yourself how miserable everything is . If you want, you can go on endlessly trying to find reasons why you’re ‘right’. Fine, but know that it won’t help you out of your depression. What do you prefer: ‘right’ or happy?
Consuming negative media . The more misery you see, the more your brain starts to believe the world is miserable. Limit negativity and focus on things that are going well. That may take some getting used to and searching, but you can do it.
Ejaculating excessively . Masturbating is not a problem, but you (especially as a man) want to work towards not ejaculating constantly because it throws your happiness hormones off balance and may make you less energetic. Masturbate less or masturbate without ejaculation – maybe a bit of practice, but quite a fun exercise.
Neglecting Your Home and Yourself . By keeping your life somewhat in order, you prevent yourself from falling deeper and deeper into that spiral. So keep your house reasonably clean and tidy, and just keep taking care of yourself.
Losing Yourself in Philosophical States . Yes – you can completely lose yourself in a sense of ‘meaninglessness’ and ’emptiness’. Maybe it feels like nothing makes sense anymore, and maybe life is ultimately ‘meaningless’. But what does it matter? God or no god, sense or no sense, heaven or no heaven – step off your philosophical ladder for a moment and return your attention to the moment. You can do better philosophizing when you are not in a depression. So now eat healthy , walk, meditateand do what you have to do. Then you can philosophize endlessly later about how everything is useful or not. If your search for reality is important to you then you also know that you are not in a position to search right now. You don’t get ‘beyond’ your brain by thinking harder from a depressed brain – that’s what meditation is for. And through meditation you will eventually realize that the whole matter is irrelevant. So keep it simple, stay grounded and save philosophy for later.
Move toward behaviors that move you forward. And cut down on habits that don’t serve you. Step by step.
6. Stay social and ask for support
When you feel depressed, you probably tend to isolate yourself from those around you. That reaction makes sense, but it doesn’t help you get out of your depression.
Isolating yourself will make you feel lonely. And loneliness in itself is a fertile breeding ground for depressive thoughts. Meh.
So what do you want to do?
Explain to your loved ones that you struggle with depression. If they don’t show much understanding ( “dude, don’t be a bitch” ) – send them some information or share this article with them.
Explain that you may not be the happiest of people right now, but you appreciate their company.
Show them the TED video below , about dealing with people who are depressed (very educational, relatable and funny).
Strive to get your “social fix” daily, preferably with a loved one. Do you find it difficult? Just think of it as exercising and eating healthy. They are things that have to happen to get out of your depression – like it or not.
You can find support from friends, relatives and colleagues. You may find other people who have come out of depression themselves and know what you are going through.
Other people who can offer support are your doctor and any care providers. Therapy offers you a safe place to work on yourself and continue to grow so that you can get out of your depression.
Do you find yourself feeling all alone, and don’t know how to get out? Then start with an app, email or phone call at an organization like Sensoror . They offer a listening ear free of charge and anonymously, and that can be incredibly valuable as a first step.

Everyone shares a common goal of finding meaning in their lives. While some individuals find purpose in their relationships and close connections, others opt for a life of comfort, and some select a profession or entrepreneurial path. However, at some point, we all contemplate whether we were brought into this world with a specific intention and what that purpose might be.
Feeling that our lives don’t have a meaning can be damaging. If we believe that there is no reason for being alive, it can make us feel more depressed, more anxious, and more reckless with the decisions we make.
A lack of purpose can make our lives feel empty. We are not motivated to do anything. Why should we do it? We are not happy or satisfied. There is a feeling of emptiness to what we do, and we might become caught up in things that don’t mean much but help us pass the time, feel better, like impulse shopping, gaming, drinking, doing drugs, or anything else that helps us fill that void.
Without a purpose, we feel empty, a nagging sensation that is not easy to define. But we try to fill this hole with whatever comes along. Often, these are things that might damage us, like substance abuse, eating too much or going on a diet, joining a cult or buying things with no thought for tomorrow. This lack of meaning can be felt in daily decisions.
But if we accept that we are born for a reason, then we need to have a reason. This might be easier than you expect. Some people feel that they are born for a reason, and then discover it. It comes with a moment of discovery, and then they just know. But most people have to construct the purpose of their lives.
This means that you get to decide what you want the purpose of your life to be, as long as it feels right. It doesn’t have to be just one thing either. You get to decide how much does your career, hobbies, family, friends, partner, etc. mean to you, what you want to focus on, and how to set your priorities.
You get to construct the reason for your life bit by bit and decide what is worthy and what is not. But as you do, you will find that every part of your day feels more meaningful, more satisfying, and more motivating.
Confidence is a trait with a lot of advantages to it. Confident people can attract others and lead people more successfully. They can take risks and apply for new opportunities. But not everyone is born with a high level of confidence.
Here are a few strategies that will allow you to become more confident and make habits that keep you steadily improving this aspect of yourself every day.
Start each day by completing small tasks
You can build a morning routine that will feed your productivity and also your confidence. Make sure that your morning reminds you how well you are able to complete each task that the world sets before you, and start with small things like making the bed, cooking breakfast, taking a shower, and so on. Check them off your to-do list and feel the little burst of dopamine that will get you motivated.
When you start your day with completed tasks, it gives you a greater feeling of confidence. You know that you are productive, that you can be productive, and that you have already achieved something. It’s like giving yourself the right momentum to begin the day.
Destroy your limiting mindset
Consider the beliefs you have that might be limiting your confidence. Do you believe that you can’t do specific things? Do you set yourself up for failure when trying new things because you expect to fail? Consider the limiting beliefs that might be holding you back.
Challenge these beliefs and ideas. Don’t accept them as the truth, allow yourself the opportunity to find out how you are capable of more things than you might expect. You can achieve big things. Just start working towards them. Let go of your limiting beliefs to feel more confident and stop sabotaging yourself.
Keep up your health
Your health is a big element of your confidence. It’s hard to project security when you feel bad. It’s important to take care of your body and ensure that you are getting the right nutrition, the best exercise, and enough sleep as well. When you look like an exhausted zombie, confidence could not be further away from your mind.
You can also work on specific elements to improve your confidence. You might feel better about yourself when you have clear skin or good posture, and these are things you can achieve by using the right strategies and tools. Your appearance doesn’t need to be exceedingly polished for you to feel confident, but it helps if you look and feel good.
Walk with a purpose
You can feel more confident by using “fake it till you make it” techniques. One of the main ones is building the right posture and also the presence. Always walk as if you knew exactly where you were going. Move towards a goal and allow yourself to take as much space as you need. Don’t try to make yourself smaller.
You can also work on how you stand and sit. Use gestures that help your body feel confident: hands at your sides, a straight back, looking ahead. While at first you might feel stiff, eventually it will help you feel more comfortable in your own skin, as it becomes second nature.
Give every opportunity your all
Once you choose to commit to an opportunity, give it your all. Act as if you had nothing to lose and put your full focus and effort on achieving the current goal. Put your best effort into what you try; don’t hold back out of fear. Try and see what happens – it will rarely lead to the worst-case scenario you imagine.
You might find that this approach doesn’t always lead to success, but failing like this is not too bad either. It teaches you to embrace failure and treat it as a part of life. You can keep trying until you succeed, and you might find that you get what you want more times than you expect.
Throw yourself into every opportunity and don’t look back. This will ensure that you are going to come across as enthusiastic and committed, and also that you will feel motivated. You will also build your confidence by testing your skills and abilities against the world.
Red Boost promotes the generation of nitric oxide, which is crucial for ensuring that healthy blood flows adequately to all parts of the body. Nitric oxide levels should be at their highest to promote optimal blood flow into the penile tissues, muscle relaxation to allow blood influx, and stronger erections. Blood flow also revitalizes the body and provides it with necessary nutrients. Red Boost promotes a healthy erection and sexual stamina by reducing oxidative stress in the smooth muscles. The solution contains substances that enhance general health and increase energy, which is essential for better sex life. The results are better the longer the pills are taken.
When we are kids, we laugh a lot. Children laugh dozens of times a day, and they laugh at small things and at big things, they laugh at silly jokes and serious things. But as we become adults, it is much more difficult to laugh so easily. Do you laugh too little in your life? Should you remember how you used to laugh before, as a child?
Laughter has a lot of benefits. It can reduce your blood pressure. It’s a great way to relax, not just on a purely emotional level, but also physically. Laughter contributes to the release of hormones and neurotransmitters that are good for our health: if we are laughing it means that all is well.
In addition to this, laughing has a social function. It helps us feel more at ease around new people and also connects us with others. Laughing together is great for bonding, no matter the situation.
Sometimes, we might feel like there is not much cause to laugh. Life can be tough. Maybe we just want to appear somber to be taken seriously. But laughter is, if not the best medicine, a good support to have there for tough times and for good times as well. Allow yourself to laugh as you used to, full belly laughs, that you don’t have to stifle.
Cultivate situations that promote laughter in your life. Watch funny films and videos, read funny articles and book. Be silly with your friends, make jokes and laugh at jokes. Make a conscious effort to include things, people, and events that make you chuckle and laugh in your daily life.
A good idea is to give yourself permission to play. Play is a natural activity that promotes a lot of laughter, whether it’s through video games, outdoor games, or board games. Discover what you like to play and have fun with it!
Laughter comes from being with others. Try to see your friends more often. Hang out with family members that are nice to be around, with whom you can make have fun, laugh, and enjoy yourself. Give your time to those who can share your laughter.
More than anything, learn to cultivate humor. Don’t take yourself so seriously. Laugh at your mistakes and learn to laugh at yourself. You don’t have to be mean, just a little sillier than you would be otherwise. When you do, you will be surprised by the changes you will see in your life.

How Does Red Boost Sex Formula Work?
Erection occurs if the smooth muscles of the penis trap adequate blood supply. Failure of the muscles to function accordingly could lead to erectile dysfunction. The manufacturer claims that taking two capsules of Red Boost daily can enhance healthy blood flow, support smooth muscle function, and prolong sex drive.
Red Boost supports nitric oxide production, an essential element in facilitating the adequate flow of healthy blood in all body parts. Optimal nitric oxide levels enhance the proper flow of blood into the penis tissues, relaxation of muscles to allow blood influx, and harder erections. In addition, blood flow nourishes the body with essential nutrients and revitalizes the body.
Red Boost inhibits oxidative stress in the smooth muscles and supports healthy erection and sexual stamina. The formula has ingredients that improve overall health and boosts energy levels, which is vital for improved sex life. The longer the ingestion of the capsules, the better the outcomes.
Red Boost Ingredients
The manufacturer combines potent, pure, and high-quality ingredients from rare sources. These elements are blended to formulate a powerful synergistic effect to enhance male sex drive, firmer erections, and stamina. The elements contained in the Red Boost supplement include:
Icariin 500mg
This ingredient is popularly known as “horny goat weed,” obtained from an Asian herb that allegedly made a Chinese goat sexually active after consumption. Icariin is commonly known for enhancing male sex performance and is primarily one of the vital ingredients used to make Red Boost. In addition, the ingredient contains potent antioxidants that boost healthy blood flow, the hardness of the penis, and sex stamina.
Tongkat Ali 50mg
The ingredient is well known as Eurycoma longifolia Jack, and it’s obtained from a Malaysian herb. The element is known for its powerful ability to stimulate the production of male sex hormones. Research shows that physically active men and women using Tongkat Ali can increase testosterone, libido, and sexual drive in older adults. The Red Boost supplement primarily uses the ingredient to alleviate oxidative stress in smooth muscles. It also supports optimal nitric oxide levels.
Fenugreek 200mg
Indian medical practitioners have used this ingredient for many years to boost sexual performance, manage erectile dysfunction, and support fertility. In 2019 clinical trials showed that “fenugreek supplementation of 400mg daily was a safe and effective treatment for reducing symptoms of possible androgen deficiency, improves sexual function and increases serum testosterone in healthy middle-aged to older men.” The researched element Fenugreek suggested that some men had a significant sexual performance. In addition, men and women show intense orgasms and satisfaction after using fenugreek as a supplement. The ingredient is vital for blending Red Boost and providing consumers with enhanced sexual drive by taking two RedBoost capsules daily.
Citrulline 200mg
Citrulline is another potent ingredient in the Red Boost supplement to aid the vessel’s vasodilation process. Vasodilation of blood vessels facilitates nutrient-rich blood flow to all body parts and maintains healthy blood vessels.
