When life challenges you; When you want to be patient

Life doesn’t always go the way you want. And in the moments when it seems like you can’t take it anymore – be patient. Better times are coming. This blog article is dedicated especially for everyone who is/are going through difficulties.

Life Challenge Meet It - Home | Facebook

Everything will pass

Life tends to overwhelm us from time to time. That is difficult, because at such moments you can completely lose the overview. Not only does it feel like there’s no way out – it also seems like life will always be like this from now on.

But if life is good at one thing, it’s change.

Everything is temporary . Even if you feel like you’re all over it. Even if you don’t know how to keep your head above water. Change is always on the horizon, even if you can’t see it yet.

When you feel like you’ve been exposed to the elements, as if your bare skin is being cut by icy winds – know that this moment isn’t forever.

Life isn’t all about pancakes

No – sometimes it’s tough, challenging and overwhelming in all sorts of ways. We can always do our best to grow, to become stronger and to develop ourselves. We can read books, meditate, overcome fears, set goals, challenge ourselves to do things differently.

But weathering adversity —keep going when you’re bombarded by cutting headwinds— is often the only way to truly grow in the areas where growth is most needed for you . This is the resistance you need to become the person you need to be to overcome bigger challenges.

To become wiser, more powerful and more valuable to those around you. In a sense, this period of despair and adversity lays the foundation for a new life.

So often the deepest setbacks prove to be the most effective foundation for a deeper and more valuable life:

  • People go through a deep burnout and decide to use their lives to help others take better care of themselves.
  • Going through a serious illness or intense trauma allows you to provide more value to people going through the same thing.
  • People go through a deep depression and eventually discover for themselves that life is indeed worth living, and find deeper meaning and satisfaction.
  • There are those who lose everything – through a fire, bankruptcy, or some other tragedy – only to find that they can eventually find happiness even in the situation they feared most, offering tremendous inner freedom.
  • Because someone has broken your heart, you learn step by step about self-love and you manage to heal your heart, making you stronger than you otherwise would ever be.
  • As life tests you, with countless challenges simultaneously coming your way, you learn to stop fighting and surrender to what is . An insight that will help you find more peace for the rest of your life.

It is the most difficult periods that help us grow – help us mature . Who have made us who we are today, and who will shape us into who we are ten years from now.

You can’t control the weather

The icy storm is slicing into your skin – whether you like it or not. You can’t influence the weather, you can only influence the way you weather this storm.

Take the steps necessary to make the situation better. And at the same time know that life right now is exactly as it is, and no different. As you work to work through this situation, you can surrender to it.

It’s hard, that’s the way it is now . And it gets better, but now it is the way it is. And that’s okay.

Sometimes there is nothing you can do. Then throwing up is your only option . Surrender to the situation and be patient, waiting for better weather. Don’t keep wishing things were different, but take the time to work through this situation and grow stronger.

Life is not always easy. And your fierce resistance to change often makes it even more difficult. Like panicking in quicksand sucking you down deeper and deeper. Calm is strength . Patience and surrender will get you through this.

Everything is temporary. Even the deepest dips in your life. Take a deep breath, be kind to yourself, be patient. You can do this.

Lift yourself out of a difficult period

Are you going through a difficult period in your life right now? Don’t worry – you’re not alone. We may not be able to solve your problems in one fell swoop, but there are many steps we can take together . Always do your best how difficult it is. Don’t Give Up !!!

Get Premiere self-discipline – it’s easier than you think

Facebooktwitterredditpinterestlinkedinmail

Do you want to learn more self-discipline to make your dreams come true? Learning self-discipline is easier than you think, and you don’t even need that much to get ahead

5 Hacks to Improve Self-Discipline in 2021 | Brian Tracy - YouTube

The lazy ones with self-discipline

I don’t think I have a lot of discipline. But when I say this to people, they say it’s false modesty.

Because how can someone with little discipline write regularly, eat healthy , exercise enough, develop courses, keep his mailbox in order and meditate regularly ?

I thought about it, and I came to two conclusions :

  1. Discipline is about doing things you don’t want to do . A lot of the things I do I like to do – so I don’t need discipline for it.
  2. Once you do something often enough, you form a habit . And habits are almost automatic. And because they are almost automatic, you hardly need any discipline.

And that is exactly where I am.

Stop doing things you don’t want to do

I am a star at this. I think life is too short to deal with things I don’t want to do .

Okay – I’m not doing the VAT return with a smile. And I am not fond of making the bed . But even with this kind of task, I do my best to make it less annoying.

  • I streamline the VAT return process so that it becomes less tedious . I work with a checklist and because of that I am through it before I realize it.
  • I use making the bed as a mindfulness exercise . I change the sheets in full consciousness. At the end I am happy with a crisp clean bed, and I feel nice and calm and happy.

And for the rest I am very critical about the things I let in my life. If it doesn’t make me happy, doesn’t help me toward my goals, or doesn’t bring me satisfaction, it’s going to get out of my life (or not come in).

My standard answer is no . And only if the activity can convince me of its fantasticness, then maybe it will be yes.

Habits streamline your life

It works like dental plaque – just think about it. If you don’t brush your teeth for too long, you get the jitters and you start brushing . The threshold at which you can no longer tolerate it is different for everyone. And you can train that threshold.

For example: if I don’t meditate for too long I get the jitters. So I’m going to meditate. I can’t help but meditate .

I get the jitters after a few days. And I’m working on getting them in just one day. Because I know – the more I meditate, the better my life gets.

Habits streamline your life. They ensure that you no longer have to think and feel no resistance. You just do it – because you’re used to it.

Building habits is one way to invest your willpower . For a few weeks, you use your willpower to push yourself into a new habit. And once the habit is ingrained, you don’t need willpower anymore.

Then that willpower is released and you can invest it in a new habit. And that works like a charm.

I’m a productive lazy cat

Really and truly. I would prefer to play games and laze about every day . But I can’t , because I have all kinds of fun things to do and because I get the jitters if I don’t do certain useful things .

12 Whopping Exciting Power Tips To Stop Rushing

Facebooktwitterredditpinterestlinkedinmail

We have more and more balls to keep up. Our solution to this is to live faster, work harder and get everything done in less time. We are in a hurry. But why actually? Why the hurry?

Free Hurry Vectors, 3,000+ Images in AI, EPS format

Why are we in such a hurry these days?

Haste seems to be the norm. If things just happen quickly then it’s good – and if it can be done faster it’s better.

We are in a hurry because we don’t have enough time. We don’t have enough time to do everything we need to (read: want to ) do. We rush through the days, through the months and the years. And we get more and more done in less and less time.

Very efficient, but is it also effective?

The answer is, of course, ‘no’ – but you already understood that.

What do you want to achieve?

Haste is the result of a lack of priorities. If you don’t know what’s most important to you, everything is automatically equally important. And if you want to achieve everything at once, you never have enough time and you have to run and fly.

Everyone on Earth has to make do with 23 hours 56 minutes and 4.1 seconds in a day . Some people have a nice life, take it easy and gradually achieve their goals. Other people run and fly, live out of chaos and feel like they can’t get a grip on their lives. They feel that they are being lived.

Only when you know what you really want can you make choices. Of course you want to be a great parent, a great friend, super healthy, successful, popular, have a nice house, grow personally, finish an education, be nice dressed and in the meantime make the world a better place.

But what are the 1-3 things that matter most to you? If you had to choose (and you have to if you don’t want to get burned out), what would you focus on? Where would you put your center of gravity?

Hurry back as the exception to the rule

Humans are not designed to be in a constant rush. It is not healthy for your body and not nourishing for your mind. The faster you live, the faster time seems to pass – it’s a downward spiral. You seem to have less and less time, which makes you live faster and faster.

Be still. Take a deep breath, drop your shoulders and let me tell you this: you don’t have to do anything . Hurry is your choice, and you can stop today. Try some of the tips below and learn how to slow down your life one step at a time:

  1. Don’t you dare do anything . Just sit for a few minutes and look out in front of you. No television, no iPad, no telephone and not even a magazine. Slow down cold turkey. How does that feel?
  2. Whenever you find yourself feeling rushed, ask yourself,  “Why am I rushing?”  You often come to the conclusion that out of habit you are running, tailgating or sighing in line at the checkout. Remind yourself to take a step back. Take your distance, lower your speed, raise your irritation threshold.
  3. Drive calmly on the road . Speeding is dangerous, environmentally harmful, expensive and usually saves you only a few minutes. Instead, put on some nice music (Youtube or online radio station(s)), and enjoy the journey.
  4. Take the time to prepare food . Leave the hustle and bustle behind for a while, and pay love and attention to your food. Cook without ready-made products. That is healthier, tastier, cheaper, better for the world and better for your stress level. Why does it always have to be so fast? Real taste takes time. Quality takes time .
  5. Try to do less instead of more . Do things that really matter, and leave the rest behind. Be critical of your todo list . Many things are ‘nice’ to achieve, very few things are ‘life-changing’. Work step by step towards your big goals, towards a better life and don’t be fooled by all the nonsense that comes in between.
  6. Consciously slow down time by slowing down your life and your thoughts every now and then . Really take half an hour to play with your daughter, to listen carefully to her. Play with your dog, take a nice walk, do something with your hands (gardening, painting, cooking or whatever). You will notice that you become calmer, and that you seem to have more time as a result .
  7. Realize that it is useless to race through life . All you achieve is that time flies by, and your life ends faster . Time is far too valuable to throw away. Use it, enjoy every second, appreciate your life as you travel through it. You only get once every second . So that’s one chance to enjoy it.
  8. Say goodbye to your watch . And while you’re at it, immediately get the clock out of the living room . Set a timer on your smartphone when you have something to do at a specific time. Furthermore, it is not at all necessary to continuously know what time it is.
  9. Take life step by step . While you’re working on one task, you don’t have to think about the task you want to perform later. First one, then the other . This way you keep your head empty, you maintain your focus and you prevent time from seeming to go faster.
  10. Plan your days less tightly . Give your calendar air to breathe. It is efficient to fully plan everything. But if your goal is to live a relaxed and happy life, this probably isn’t exactly effective.
  11. Immediately grab yourself by the scruff of the neck if you’ve had to rush for whatever reason. Don’t take the rush any further into your day, but stop rushing as soon as you can.
  12. Realize that you will never get everything done . There will always be unfinished tasks – and that’s okay. Realize that enjoying the beautiful things in life is more important than an empty to-do list.

Rushing less will help you significantly increase the quality of your life. There’s no point in rushing through your life, so don’t get rushed. Take it easy and focus on the things that are most important to you.

That way you will not only feel a lot better, you will also achieve your goals more easily and design the life of your dreams more easily.

Believing in yourself – 4 tips to become powerful and unstoppable

Facebooktwitterredditpinterestlinkedinmail

By believing in yourself you increase your chance of success, happiness and growth in your life. These tips will help you believe in yourself.

Believe in Yourself

Do you believe in yourself for a better life?

Believing in yourself is important. Because the more you believe in your own strength, skills and possibilities – the more you will get done.

If you believe you can do something, you are more likely to take the step to do it. You get over self-doubt and do whatever it takes to shape your ideal life.

What happens when you believe in yourself?

  • You get more done . You dare to take on more challenges and are less plagued by the limiting thought “I can’t”. This allows you to get more done.
  • You radiate more self-confidence . You feel stronger and happier with yourself. This appearance ensures that you make contact with people more easily and thus create more possibilities in your life.
  • You see the world more positively . If you believe in yourself, the world will look more positive. Like a place full of possibilities.
  • You step over obstacles more easily . If it doesn’t work out for a while, believing in yourself will help you get through. This increases the chance that you will eventually achieve your goals – even when it gets challenging.
  • You grow more easily . Believing in yourself makes it easier for you to get out of your comfort zone. As a result, your personal growth takes flight.

In this article I share four tips that have helped me believe in myself more over the past 15 years. They work like a charm. Are you reading along?

1. Stop comparing yourself

Precisely. And if you want to compare yourself, then compare yourself with people who are less advanced in certain areas than you.

Social media tends to emphasize the exceptional: beautiful people in beautiful homes with beautiful clothes and beautiful children who behave beautifully.

But these images are rarely a correct reflection of reality. And it is also the exception . Most people don’t lead an Insta-worthy existence – and that’s fine!

Of course you can use the lives of others as a source of inspiration. But it’s important that you don’t keep comparing yourself to another person – because two people cannot be compared. Use what inspires you as your dot on the horizon and set your own goals to get there .

Then let go of the other.

It’s hard to believe in yourself when you’re constantly comparing your life to exceptional people and lives.

The solution? Stop following people who make you doubt yourself. Reduce your exposure to these kinds of series and people.

Don’t look at what someone else can do. Rather compare yourself to your former self . Have you grown compared to last year? What have you achieved? What lessons have you learned?

Spend less time on social media and more time with your journal, for example. Reflect on your own growth and progress and stop comparing. You will soon believe in yourself more.

2. Don’t put yourself down anymore

How do you talk about yourself? How do you talk to yourself? If you’re like most people, you tend to put yourself down.

  • “I’m just doing something too.”
  • “I really can’t do this.”
  • “I’m not that attractive.”

It’s hard to believe in yourself when a little voice keeps whispering in your ear how weak, inferior, and worthless you are.

Notice when you bring yourself down, and turn it around . You don’t even have to make it overly positive, as long as you stop making yourself smaller than you are.

Do you get a compliment? Say thank you and believe the compliment . Notice how that little voice in your head tries to sabotage it: “If she knew who I really am, she’d say something else…”

New!

You are a great person . You’re not perfect – neither am I. That’s nobody. Everyone struggles. Everyone thinks that others do know how life works. That others are all constantly happy and happy.

It’s not like that. We all doubt ourselves. But one takes those doubts seriously, and the other puts them aside.

You don’t have to take that negative voice in your head seriously. It’s even better not. Let’s not put ourselves down – let’s celebrate ourselves .

3. Build in small steps

Believing in yourself becomes easier when you notice that you are making progress. That you succeed in achieving your goals. You do this by proving to yourself that you can actually get things done.

And what’s the best way to get things done? Simple: take a small step every day .

Do you find it difficult to imagine that you will ever really clean your house? Clean up a little today , and do it again tomorrow. That way you will eventually get it done and you can feel proud of yourself.

The same goes for healthy living, achieving your work goals or building better relationships: take one small step every day .

Taking small steps helps me time and time again when I start to doubt myself. I then let go of my perfectionism and just do something in the right direction. Soon I feel positive and fulfilled again, which creates an upward spiral.

In this way you avoid self-sabotage (a small step is taken in no time) and you actually make progress. You will soon believe in yourself more.

4. Work on self-acceptance

Many of us walk around with the feeling that we should be different . Slimmer, prettier, more successful, more productive, smarter, more organized, more empathetic – you know the thing.

There is nothing wrong with striving for growth, improvement and progress. But it is important to examine within yourself what the actual motivation is .

Do you want to lose weight because you allow yourself a healthier body? Or because you worry about what others think of you?

Do you want to build that business because you love the creative challenges? Or are you trying to get an “I’m proud of you” from your sober father in this way ?

Does your urge to change come from a place of self-love or self-doubt?

By working on self-acceptance you come closer to yourself. You feel more rooted in who you are and therefore less insecure. This will make you believe in yourself more and more. Because you know who you are and what your path is in this life.

What I do when I don’t feel like working

Facebooktwitterredditpinterestlinkedinmail

Like everyone else, sometimes I don’t feel like working. Fortunately, I found a way to deal with that productivity.

I’m a bit drawn out

I Dont Want To Work Today – T-Shirt – Enjoy Denial

I like my job. I love writing blogs. But not always. And sometimes that’s a problem, because things just have to happen . When you work for an employer, you pull yourself together and just do as you are asked. But that’s not how it works when you work for yourself.

I can manage my own time. So if I don’t feel like working I can just daydream all afternoon without anyone getting mad at me. With the exception of my future self, of course. Because if I’ve procrastinated in the past, I’ll have to pay for it now , and that doesn’t make me happy.

Anyway, if I don’t feel like working then I will postpone. Hanging out on YouTube, playing useless games or chatting about useless games.

But like I said, sometimes things just have to happen.

So what do I do? I’m doing something crazy.

I release myself

Precisely. I release myself. Now I have a huge toolkit of techniques to reduce procrastination (you can create your own toolkit) . But if the task has some slack, this is my favorite technique. If I find that I don’t want to work, I give myself permission not to work .

I say to myself, “Fine, you don’t have to work. You have the rest of the day off.”

That feels very nice. Why? In the first place because being free is just nice. It means I can get on with YouTube and do other things guilt-free . Being lazy without feeling like you should be doing something is the best form of being lazy.

It feels like summer vacations when I was a teenager. No responsibilities, no obligations, no homework. Pure fantastic-ness.

By letting go of myself, a weight has been lifted off my shoulders. Because if I think I should write a great article, but I can’t do it, I feel bad. Then I consider myself a loser. And that feels terrible.

But if I tell myself it’s fine. I do not need to write if I do not want. Then I feel light and free.

And then something even crazier happens .

I feel like working!

Yep. That’s how it almost always works. I tell myself, “I can game for the rest of the day if I want.”

And then I feel so free that I often think, “Okay, you know what – I’ll just write this article and then I’ll just relax.”

And suddenly there is an article on my screen . And that feels good. After which I think to myself: “Hmm – I’ll answer these emails before I start gaming.” And voilà, the mailbox is empty!

Sometimes I put my laptop away at this point and do indeed relax. But often one leads to the other. And my to-do list is finished and I don’t even feel the need to game anymore.

In fact, I often feel so happy and energized from completing tasks that I decide to go for a run or do something useful.

Nice stuff.

I Just change my mind

High paying jobs for people who don't want to grow up or work in an office - Workopolis Blog

The situation does not change. Just changing my mind about the situation. And this makes me suddenly behave very differently.

Because if I don’t, I’m going to stare at my screen all afternoon without doing anything. That I might as well do something else useless that makes me happy. And as soon as I allow myself that, it suddenly becomes much less annoying to work for a while.

And you know – often this is also the best remedy for procrastination in the future. For the bow cannot always be tense. If I don’t feel like working, it’s often because I’m tired or stressed. A bit of lounging around will make me feel like tomorrow.

Have you ever found yourself in a similar situation? Perhaps the strange technique will help you too. Give yourself the freedom to your tasks do not perform, and see what happens.

You may also suddenly feel like finishing a few tasks. Doesn’t it help you? No worries. Set up your own list to help you reduce procrastination.

WHY DRINKING WATER IS SO IMPORTANT

Facebooktwitterredditpinterestlinkedinmail

A relevant question after that immense heat is knocking us daily in the Caribbean and in other parts of the world. Fortunately, the warm weather helps us to drink more water, although we have to drink even more than usual on those days. As the Caribbean Blog Authority, I like to shoot into your brains that you have to drink more water to stay in shape. Keep reading this blog and find out why drinking more water.

15 benefits of drinking water and other water facts

Fact: our bodies are made up of more than half of water.
In order to function properly, you must therefore also get enough water. Water serves as a building material, solvent, it helps you with the removal of waste products and it regulates your body temperature.

In practice I notice that drinking enough water is a challenge. Against all odds, some glasses of water are drunk during the day, but 1500 to 200 milliliters is by no means achieved. Maybe if all those cups of coffee are counted, but unfortunately, you guessed it: we don’t count those.

I therefore start almost every nutritional process with making sure that someone drinks enough water. But more importantly: I start to explain why water is so important, what dehydration can do to you and how you can find out that you are drinking too little.

Fact: the brain doesn’t distinguish between hunger and thirst.

Hunger and thirst are regulated by the hypothalamus (a part of the brain). We only think of hunger more quickly than of thirst and that is why we eat first and then drink. So it is wise to drink a large glass of water first. If your hunger/thirst doesn’t go away, it may be time to eat something.

WHAT CAUSES MOISTURE DEFICIENCY ?

1. Fatigue. Dehydration can cause fatigue and drowsiness, which can reduce daily activities and endurance during your workout.

2. The recovery of your muscle tissue slows down after training.

3. Low blood pressure. Low blood pressure in turn also causes fatigue and dizziness (mainly when standing up too quickly).

4. Your skin dries out and therefore feels tight. This causes skin aging faster.

5. Headaches! Too little fluid can cause the brain to temporarily shrink, causing it to separate from the skull. In addition to headaches, this can also cause other complaints, such as poor concentration, a bad memory, a negative mood and you can be less alert.

Fact: you can tell by the color of your urine whether you have drunk enough water.
The lighter your urine is more water you drank. If your urine is dark yellow, then you know that you really need to drink a little more water.

We Conclude with a Tip, Because How Can You Easily Drink More Water ?

Link drinking water to one or more events during your day. For example, drink one bottle of water (about half a liter) as soon as you get up, the next bottle of water during your coffee breaks and the last when you drive home or are cooking. Preferably you drink a larger amount in one go (also called bulk drinking) and not small sips throughout the day. In addition, it is much better for your body and digestion not to drink during or right after eating, but well before or well after eating.

Note :

Exaggerating is also a profession of course; you really don’t need to drink more than two liters of water a day, unless you have been exercising intensively or if you lose a lot of fluids due to the heat. Keep Drinking, Stay Safe and Healthy !!

If Life Has Exhausted You Read This Quickly

Facebooktwitterredditpinterestlinkedinmail

I know what it’s like to feel tired – and not just physically.

The world we live in is an exhausting place. It wears off. It’s ungrateful. It challenges you endlessly and it hardly rewards you.

Mentally exhausted? Symptoms and tips to overcome mental exhaustion

You are only tired because you live in this world. You are tired of loving too much, giving too much business, giving too much to a world that never gives you anything in return.

You are tired of putting effort into an uncertain outcome. You are tired of uncertainty. You’ve had enough of the gray.

I know you haven’t always been so exhausted – there was a moment when you were hopeful and pure. When your optimism was stronger than your cynicism and you had an endless amount of optimism to spread.

I know you’re carved and worn out piece by piece – a broken heart here and an empty promise there.

I know the world hasn’t always been fair about the games you’ve played and you’ve lost far more often than you won.

I Know You’re Out of Inspiration to Try Again. i Know.

The truth is that we are all tired. Everybody. At a certain age we are all just an army of broken hearts and sore souls, desperate to feel fulfilled.

We want more, but we’re too tired to ask. We’re tired of being here, but we’re too scared to start again.

We have to take risks, but we’re too scared to see it collapse. After all, we’re not quite sure how many times we can start over.

We all think we are alone in our fatigue. But the truth is we’re tired of each other – the games we play and the lies we tell and the insecurity we put on each other.

We don’t want to be the villain, but we don’t want to be the sucker either. So we are on our guard. We develop an immune system. And we fulfill the role we despise because we are not sure if there is any other choice.

I know it can feel impossible to keep trying and giving and getting when you’re dead tired. I know that the merry ideals you were once promised now seem old and hopeless.

But I beg this when you’re about to give up: try one more time, with feeling. I know you’ve had enough of all the attempts. I know you’re at your wits’ end.

But the truth about that new attempt is that you’ll never realize you’ve found it if you don’t first leave your previous one behind.

We are all more resilient than we think and that is the undeniable truth. We are always able to give more love, have more hope, spread more passion and let loose on the world.

We just don’t walk far enough to realize that our actions have benefited. We want to see immediate results and when we don’t, we give up.

We let the fatigue stop us. The lack of feedback frustrates us and we assume that means throwing the effort out the window completely.

This is something we all don’t want to admit: nobody feels inspired every day. We all get tired.

We are all discouraged. And we get to process those feelings. Sitting down and being weary and tired of life doesn’t mean you don’t make a change.

Everyone you have ever admired has experienced situations where they felt completely defeated as they tried to pursue their dreams.

But that didn’t stop her from making those dreams come true. You may slowly stumble to achieve your greatest transformations. It doesn’t always have to be spectacular.

Some things in life happen quietly. They happen slowly. They happen because we’ve made some small, careful choices, choices that make us a better version of ourselves.

We have to allow those adjustments to happen. That we watch them evolve. That we don’t get hopelessly frustrated in the meantime.

If you are tired, take it easy. Be quiet. Be shy. But don’t stop. It makes sense that you are tired. You’re tired because there was no other way.

You are tired because you are making a change. It’s only natural that you’re tired and it’s just a clue to keep going.

You are tired because you are blooming. And one day that growth will give way to the rejuvenation you need.

The pandemic has changed their morning routine for many people. Now that working from home is the norm, we can stay in bed longer. According to a study by the University of Colorado Boulder, we make great use of this. Since the corona crisis, students have been sleeping half an hour longer on weekdays and got out of bed almost an hour later.

Natural sleep rhythm

While a workday usually lasts from 9am to 5pm, that doesn’t mean it’s best for everyone. On the contrary, the natural sleep rhythm differs from person to person and depends on genetics, hormones and external factors such as light and sound. When we deviate from our natural rhythm, this increases the risk of fatigue and inattention. This reduces the quality of the work. The risk of developing cardiovascular disease and type 2 diabetes also increases.

Better performances

Flexible work schedules improve productivity and health. For example, it appears that secondary school students perform better when schools start later. By having the opportunity to sleep more, the students get better grades and are more mentally present. The pressure to get up early is therefore social rather than biological. When we follow our own sleep rhythm, we become both more productive and healthier. Therefore, stick to this new sleeping habit. Even if we do travel to work again.

When you are self-aware, you live your life according to your own values. You make your own choices and feel what is right for you. The Blogging Optimist Danny Jibodh, presents four benefits of increased self-awareness.

Is self-care the new healthcare? - Chronic Disease

Self-care

Without self-awareness, you easily neglect yourself and take less care of yourself. Increased self-awareness has a positive impact on your mental, emotional, physical and spiritual health. You become less emotional, you are more steadfast in life and you can look at yourself with a mild look.

Improving relationships

When we don’t know what we want or need, it’s hard to form a good relationship with someone. When you get to know yourself well, the way you stand in relationships changes. You learn to set limits and you know when someone is not good for you. You gather people around you who share the same values and have a positive influence on you. At the same time, it makes you aware of your own responsibility within relationships.

Work smarter, more productive and mindful

When you are self-aware, you make better career choices and reduce work stress. You know what your strengths are, but you also know what you don’t excel at. This allows you to work smarter and you know better what you need to do to achieve your goal. Your productivity also increases. When you have trouble getting to work, it’s usually because thoughts, emotions, or habits are getting in the way. Increased self-awareness removes these obstacles.

Keeping calm in a crisis

Everyone has to deal with setbacks or stressful situations from time to time. Poor decision-making often stems from confused thinking and emotional reactions. Before you jump into action mode and do things you’ll regret later, take a step back.

There are countless ways to increase your self-awareness. This can be done, for example, through meditation, coaching or keeping a diary. The most important thing is to look critically at yourself. How do you feel? How do you react to something? And what is the impact of your actions?

How to become Mentally Strong and Calm your Mind

Facebooktwitterredditpinterestlinkedinmail

Everyone desires to live a balanced and healthy life, and this reflects in the type of foods we choose to eat or ignore, exercising our body regularly, and seeing a doctor when we feel the symptoms of sickness. There is another aspect to our overall well-being that most people rarely give the right attention to; mental health.

Some Amazing Acts Mentally Strong People Don't Do

Think about it for a minute: when was the last time you assessed your mental health, and what are you consciously doing to improve your mental state?

If you barely know the simple routines you can start to practice today to improve your brain function and mental health, these next tips will suffice.

1. Practise Mindfulness

Mindfulness is a therapeutic technique that is achieved when you become fully aware of your present moment. It makes you accept and own up to your thoughts, emotions, feelings, and body sensations without judgment, denying, or shying away from them.

It encourages you to live in the moment, such that you’re not anxious about what the future holds, nor are you worried about any negative experiences of the past.

To practice this, you can start by becoming more conscious of your everyday routine and take note of how your mind and body react to smells, sounds, or even tastes.

This awareness may not happen overnight, as you could even fail to notice as much as you should. But if you persevere, it’ll become second nature and improve your mental health.

2. Stop Excessive Thinking

Have you ever felt so lost in thought that you forget about your present environment? If you’re in the habit of overthinking about anything, make up your mind from now on to stop; Because it does more harm to your mental health than good.

If you find yourself overthinking, try doing these:

A. Incorporate 15 minutes of Thinking Time into your daily routine and keep to it. When your time is up, move on with other activities.

B. Focus only on things you can control, and instead of thinking about a problem too much, start by writing out 5-10 solutions. It will challenge and calm your thoughts.

C. Move on to something else; a project, an activity, etc that can distract you.

3. Be Organized

One of the underlying causes of poor mental health is disorders. It could be at work or even at home, but it always has the same effects every time.

Here are some of the best ways to organize for your mental health:

A. Break down your goals into bite-sized pieces that make them easier to achieve.

B. Remove distractions and declutter.

C. Perfection is great to attain, but normalize your desire to make everything perfect; it often puts you under too much mental pressure.

4. Regular Exercise:

When some people hear ‘exercise,’ what comes to their mind is running on a treadmill or doing something as strenuous as lifting weights, but exercise does not always have to be that way.

Exercise can be as simple as taking a 10-minute walk. Engaging in regular workouts gives you clearer thoughts and memories, helps reduce stress, and allows you to sleep well at night.

If you are struggling with staying consistent with your workout routine, you can enroll in a gym close to you; that way, you can connect with other people who could hold you accountable.

5. Practise Gratitude:

This simply means you are thankful for the things you have, rather than focusing on what you don’t have. Practicing gratitude sounds very easy, but it could be challenging, especially during tough times.

However, once you master it, you tend to live a happier and more fulfilling life. You may have observed that people who practice gratitude are more optimistic about life than those who do not.

Make it a habit to write out at least things 5 you are grateful for every morning. This would help set the tone of your day the right way.

6. Take a break from Social Media:

With the increasing rate of cyberbullying, social comparison, and toxicity on social media, taking social media breaks is not an option but a necessity for the sake of your sanity.

We can’t deny the fact that social media has bridged the communication gap that existed before the introduction of the internet and social media. But we also know that it can cause anxiety, undue pressure, mental fatigue that comes from too much comparison, and the need to be available online most of the time.

Take a break from social media from time to time; your mental health will thank you for that.

7. Open Up To Someone

Let’s admit it, talking to someone else about your mental health might not seem like an option you prefer, but it is one of the best ways to a speedy recovery. It is okay to look vulnerable at times like this, but once you get the mental help you need, you could be the one extending the same support to others.

A. Ideally, if you have a friend or family member you can confide in, go ahead and talk to them about your mental state.

B. On the other hand, you may prefer to remain anonymous and join an online support group where you can bare all your worries.

C. If that still doesn’t work for you, consider booking an appointment with a doctor or find a local support group that can help you every step of the way.

If you practice any of these, you’ll see lots of improvement in your mental health.
